Request for letters of Interest for Board Members to the Oteenow Employment & Training Society

The Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta is seeking a representative to the Board of Directors for Oteenow Employment & Training Society (OETS) 

Treaty 8 First Nations of ALberta and the Development Foundation of Treaty Six Confederacy are the Treaty area stakeholders for the OET Society.

We require 1 representative for the Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta who must meet the following requirements:

  • The Board of Directors must be a resident in the Edmonton Metropolitan area throughout their term as an appointed Director.
  • The Board of Directors must have an appropriate level of knowledge of the communities of the Treaty Area Stakeholders
  • The Board of Directors must have knowledge of employment training programs.

The Board of Directors shall be appointed in writing by Treaty Area Stakeholders and shall, unles earlier terminated in accordance with the Act or the OETS By-laws, serve for a term of two (2) years from the date of their appointment to a maximum of six (consecutive) years. Preference will be given to Treaty 8 citizens.

The Board of Directors are a volunteer Board and as such do not receive renumeration for attending meetings and performing other duties as a Director. From time to time, the Baord of Directors may be required to travel on behalf of OETS and in such cases, travel expenses will be provided by OETS.
